1500 Military Time

Convert 1500

1500 is hour 15. Subtract 12 → 3:00 PM. From 3:00 PM add 12 → 1500. Mid-afternoon meetings and school bells often land here because it is the first whole PM hour after the early-afternoon block.

How to say 1500

Say “fifteen hundred.” In some units you will hear “fifteen hundred hours.” Both mean 3:00 PM on the local clock.

Timezone note

1500 remains a format code. Shipping cutoffs labeled 1500 follow the warehouse timezone printed on the dock sheet, not a universal 1500 across every building in the company.

Payroll / decimal hours

1500 → 15.00 decimal. From 0700 to 1500 is an 8.00-hour day. From 1100 to 1500 is 4.00 hours — a common half-day or relief block.

1500 on civilian calendars

Calendars that default to 12-hour display still accept 1500 in many military-friendly tools; they render it as 3:00 PM. If a guest invite shows only “3 PM,” you can answer in 1500 without changing the meeting.
