How do I convert 2 PM to military time?

Add 12 to get 14, then write 1400.

1400 Military Time — What Time Is 1400? (2:00 PM)

Convert 1400

1400 → 14 − 12 = 2 → 2:00 PM. From 2:00 PM add 12 → 1400. Early afternoon briefs and post-lunch training blocks favor this round hour.

How to say 1400

Say “fourteen hundred.” It is one of the easiest PM hours to teach newcomers because subtracting 12 from 14 is obvious.

Timezone note

1400 on a distributed call-in sheet is still local unless marked otherwise. Add EST, PST, or Z when the audience is not standing in the same building.

Payroll / decimal hours

1400 → 14.00 decimal. From 0600 to 1400 is 8.00 hours. From 1400 to 2200 is another clean 8.00-hour evening block used by many 2–10 schedules.

Teaching the conversion with 1400

Instructors often start PM drills with 1400 because the arithmetic is simple. Once that clicks, 1500–2300 follow the same subtract-12 rule.
